Our Story And How It All Started

Nestled in the heart of the island, Lauria’s is more than just a place to eat—it’s a tribute to family, heritage, and tradition. Named after the beloved grandmother of the restaurant’s owner, Lauria’s celebrates the spirit of Italian cuisine passed down through generations. Lauria, a first-generation Italian-American, grew up in a small kitchen where the aromas of slow-cooked sauces, freshly made pasta, and home-baked bread filled the air. It was here, in her humble home, that the foundations of what would become Lauria’s were laid.

At Lauria’s, the menu is not just a menu—it is an extension of Grandma Lauria herself. Every dish served is a reflection of the love and care she poured into their meals over the years. Whether it’s the rich, hearty Spaghetti sauce simmering for hours, or the delicate, hand-made pasta, each plate is prepared with the same care and attention that Grandma Lauria herself once put into cooking for her loved ones. The ingredients are simple but honest, sourced from local farms and markets, ensuring every bite tastes like it’s made with a little bit of home.

The atmosphere of Lauria’s is as much about the experience as it is about the food. The moment you walk through the doors, you are transported to an Italian bistro, complete with warm, inviting colors, rustic wooden tables, and the unmistakable charm of old-world Italy. The clink of glasses, the hum of conversation, and the comforting scents of garlic and basil fill the space, inviting guests to relax, savor, and enjoy. Family photos line the walls, capturing moments from Grandma Lauria’s life—her early days in Milwaukee WI, the bustling kitchens, and the generations that followed. These snapshots of time are a reminder of the values that shaped this restaurant: hard work, love, and a deep sense of belonging.

With the second location in full swing, Lauria’s became a family-run operation, with Jordan at the helm and her loved ones helping to keep the tradition alive. The restaurant is more than just a business—it was a family legacy. The staff, many of whom has been with Jordan from the very beginning, work hand in hand to create an environment that reflects the values instilled in Jordan by her grandmother: hospitality, love, and the importance of sharing meals with the people you care about.

Lauria’s, now with two locations, continues to be a celebration of life’s greatest pleasures. Each plate of pasta, every glass of wine, and each bite of charcuterie tells a story—a story of family, of heritage, and of a young woman from Milwaukee who set out to build something extraordinary in honor of the woman who shaped her love for cooking.

The live music, the freshly baked bread, the laughter echoing through the air, and the warm glow of candlelight—these are the things that make Lauria’s so special. And no matter which location you find yourself in—whether you’re on the beach enjoying the sunset or in the heart of the island listening to a local musician play—you’re always a part of the Lauria’s family. It’s a place where food is a celebration, and every guest is treated like one of their own.

Before we even got into the door we seen staff being SUPER rude over parking, then we get inside and never got any sort of service. Upon leaving we seen the same staff still harassing a PAYING customer over towing her vehicle cause she was also visiting the establishment beside it as well. Don’t waste your time honestly.

We had a server that treated us horribly. As soon as we got out of our car and continued to harass us. Coffee was basic and bland . Do not recommend not worth your time.

If I could leave a 0 star I 100% would. I Got yelled at before I even got out of my car about parking when they didn’t know where I was taking my service. So disrespectful. I went and spent money and then still had to move my vehicle.

Small place, but enjoyed our seating on the patio outside with nice live music. The food was nothing to write home about.

While we enjoyed the small feel of the place the food wasn’t worth the 1 mile walk. The bruschetta lacked flavor and the pizza tasted like it came from a box. We wouldn’t eat here again. We paid $75 and left disappointed and hungry. The staff was nice but the wait for our food was long

Upon leaving their beachside location we assumed it couldn’t be much worse. However, it was Very under staffed (other employee left one person to manage 2 large parties and another 2 ladies). I believe the staff member was serving, cooking and maintaining the bar. Food was mediocre at best. Really had higher expectations, maybe dinner is better but brunch was not enjoyable honestly. I feel with proper staffing this place would be so much better.
Great atmosphere and food!! Service was excellent and everyone was super nice! Amazing spot for some good food and vibes!!

The food was quite good. The service, though, was lacking. Just not enough people working on this visit. And the guy providing live music was loud enough for Madison Square Garden. We had to move tables because we couldn't hear each other talk. But, yeah, good food!
